Laura Estrada is Fulbright U.S. Student Program Semi-Finalist for the Binational Business Internship in Mexico and a Finalist for the California Capital Fellows Senate Fellows Internship. A transfer student from San Diego City College who graduated from UCI in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Psychology, she served as co-secretary of the Latinx Psychological Student Association and was a bilingual site supervisor and Spanish curriculum editor for UCI’s Global Connect program, in addition to designing an honors research thesis inspired by her experience as a trans-border student living between Tijuana, Mexico and San Diego, California. Laura plans to earn a master’s degree in public policy with an environmental specialization and pursue a career in binational policy.
