Anne-Marie Leiby – Strauss Alternate

Anne-Marie is a junior double-majoring in Biological Sciences and Dance. Currently a volunteer and team member at the Inpatient Rehabilitation Clinic at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, Anne-Marie has worked for three years in the lab under the mentorship of Dance Science researcher Dr. Kelli Sharp, who is the Co-Director of iMove at UCI’s Stem Cell Research Center. Anne-Marie has researched the benefits of ballet for those with cerebral palsy. A dance instructor in ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical styles, she is also the co-founder of Limitless Leaps, an outreach program providing free dance classes for students with Down syndrome in collaboration with the Down Syndrome Foundation of Orange County. In further pursuing studies at the intersection of dance, human physiology, and health, Anne-Marie aspires to a career as a physical therapist and dance educator.
