Christian Tototiu – Goldwater Honorable Mention

Christian Totoiu is a junior with a major in Chemical Engineering. Active in UCI’s Campuswide Honors Program, Christian is also a member of numerous engineering and academic honor societies and has received multiple UROP and SURP grants in pursuance of his research and has presented posters at symposia. Christian has done research on DNA recovery from museum-archived specimens, and he has also worked on engineering a real-time insulin biosensor for monitoring type-1 diabetes in patients. Christian plans to obtain a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a focus in materials science and chemical biology.
