Erin Araneta – NSF Recipient

Erin Joy E. Araneta is a chemistry undergrad working with Professor Jenny Yang’s group at UC Irvine. She is a graduating senior and was named the Distinguished Anteater awardee, ACS LEADS scholar, undergraduate Innovation Fellow, and Crankstart foundation scholar. She is very passionate about organometallic sustainable chemistry, mentorship, sustainable access, diversity, and inclusion. As the OC American Chemical Society Younger Chemist Committee Chair, Adventures of Chemist Clara author, and Theory of Joy founder and director, she uses her creativity and curiosity to give opportunities where a diverse group of people can learn, live better lives, and gain an understanding of STEAM. In the future, she aspires to be a chemistry professor to be able to enrich other people’s lives and share how awesome chemistry is!
