Joshua Nguyen – Killam Recipient

Joshua is a Sophomore majoring in Public Health. His research focus since he started at UCI has been memory and learning. He is an Ambassador for the Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory. Under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Yassa, he has won the Friends of CNLM Award to study biomarkers of Alzheimer’s Disease. He is Vice President of the UCI Chapter of Nu Rho Psi, the national neuroscience honor society. He has served as ASUCI Academic Engagement Director and Vice Chair for the Anteater Safety Net Grant Committee. His plans after graduating from UCI are to attend graduate school with the hopes of working for the NIH or WHO and make a social and scientific impact on society.
