Alexia Ventura is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), a Tutorial Leader at UCI’s Learning and Academic Resource Center (LARC), a staff member and radio show host at KUCI 88.9 FM in Irvine, and a verified independent artist on Spotify and YouTube. For the 2022-2023 school year, she became a semifinalist for the Department of Defense’s Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship, as well as one of UCI’s candidates for the Donald A. Strauss Scholarship Foundation award (where she proposed a project to help beginner adult musicians through an app and a club). From her experiences changing her major to computer science without prior programming experience, pursuing music without the college major, and having roles since high school that strengthen communities, she is passionate about being a student leader who advocates for well-being at UCI and beyond.
