Owen Trimble – Fulbright Recipient

Owen Trimble is a graduating senior in mechanical engineering and first-generation college student. Owen studied fuel cell implementation for individual consumers and their effect on the electric grid compared to battery powered vehicles with Professor Jack Brouwer within the National Fuel Cell Research Center at UCI. Owen currently does research with Professor William Sirignano investigating the effect of nonlinear modeling for acoustics in rocket injectors that experience unstable combustion, with plans to submit findings to a peer-reviewed journal. He was also involved in the UCI Rocket Project and was a lead solids engineer and lead propulsion engineer for the team of 60 students. Owen has plans to pursue his Ph.D. at Stanford to conduct research on harnessing ocean wave energy.
