Taylor is a sophomore Earth System Science major with a minor in biology. She is also a NOAA Ernest Hollings Scholar. She is an Undergraduate Researcher in the Druffel Lab, studying why dissolved organic carbon has been dated to be thousands of years old, even though it is produced in surface level photosynthesis. She was previously a laboratory manager for the Rafter Ocean and Climate Lab, studying paleoceanography in order to reconstruct past climates and oceanic patterns since the last glacial maximum. Her long-term career goal is to form her own think tank or NGO that is dedicated to stabilizing marine environments with an emphasis on community engagement and outreach. She also wants to be a National Coral Reef Management Fellow through NOAA.
