Ashley Duong – Fulbright Alternate

Ashley is a recent alumna who double majored in literary journalism and philosophy. In her time at UCI, she was heavily involved with the campus paper, The New University, and was able to serve as a writer, copy editor, assistant news editor and managing editor. She also had the opportunity to be a mentor to other students under the Humanities Mentoring Program, as well as the International Student Excellence Program. In her fourth year, Ashley became a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated from UCI with Latin honors. She is currently working as an education beat reporter for the Southeast Iowa Union. In the future, Ashley hopes to continue doing community-based reporting and writing important stories.
