Pratyush Muthukumar – Goldwater Recipient

Pratyush Muthukar is a Goldwater Scholarship Recipient. Pratyush is a transfer student from California State University Los Angeles and a UCI Alumni Association Scholar in Computer Science. His research experiences include Artificial Intelligence-based traffic monitoring systems for semi-autonomous vehicles and a joint research project by the City of Los Angeles and NASA to predict air pollution and its health effects on residents. Under UCI Vice Chancellor for Research Dr. Pramod Khargonekar, he is studying deep learning for empathy-based AI. This summer, Pratyush will perform research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to develop SDNs at the exascale in the era of big data, machine learning, and cloud computing. Pratyush plans to pursue graduate school to develop ethical and effective machine learning models to increase interconnectivity and altruism.
