Shashank is a recent alumni in Biological Sciences. A recipient of multiple UROP and SURP grants during his time at UCI, Shashank received the Excellence in Research award and UC Irvine Chancellor’s Award of Distinction in 2017. He has given talks at several national emergency medicine conferences and co-authored papers on patient empowerment initiatives targeting the opioid epidemic. Shashank has recently served as Team Lead with the Orange County Needle Exchange Program, Peer Academic Advisor with UCI Bio Sci, mentor with the Big Brother Big Sister Program, and Community Relations Chair with Flying Samaritans at UCI. He plans to pursue an M.D./M.P.H. dual degree, with the goal of becoming an emergency medicine physician and clinical researcher in public health policy.
